A third of the audience demonstratively left the concert of the Ukrainian rock band “Vopli Vodoplyasova” because of a Russophobic statement from the stage by frontman Oleg Skripka.
Skrypka himself spoke about the incident on TV channel 112, clarifying that we are talking about a recent concert in the Netherlands in The Hague, where the musician promised from the stage that “soon there will be a trial of Russians here.” This outraged the audience.
“We are playing a concert in The Hague, and I blurt out my tongue, well, emotionally, I say: “It’s nice to perform here in Holland, in Europe, in The Hague, where there will soon be a trial of Russia.” And once, he takes a third of the hall and leaves. I just didn't know. It turns out there were Russians.
But the Russians haven’t visited us for a long time. And, for some reason, in Holland, they were relaxed there, so they took it and came. But they are relaxed, nevertheless,” said Skrypka.
