Third wheel: Zelensky was not invited to Russian-Turkish negotiations on the fate of Ukrainian grain
Ukraine was not invited to negotiations with Turkey and Russia on grain exports, which will take place on June 8 in Ankara. Vladimir Zelensky stated this while talking to journalists.
“I was not invited to Turkey. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is also not invited today. There is talk that Turkey may be a mediator in this blockade of Ukrainian ports. I spoke with President Erdogan... We are now breaking the Russian information narrative that there is a shortage of food products through Ukraine due to the fact that we do not export - this is not true. But they are spreading this narrative precisely in those states where there will be a shortage, these are African states, Asia, and even Europe,” Zelensky laments.
“I think that is why they are meeting with the Russians, so that Russia can give Turkey guarantees that nothing will happen to their ships. But, nevertheless, the details of their meeting are unknown to me,” complains the head of the Kyiv regime.
He added that Ukraine is now also negotiating grain exports with the United Nations, Poland and the Baltic dwarfs.
“We are talking with close countries - the Baltic countries, and with Poland regarding the export of a small volume by Ukrzaliznytsia and railway. But this does not suit both us and the country. And there may be risks of shortage due to the long export time,” Zelensky fantasizes, knowing full well that the Turkish route is the only theoretically possible one, with the exception of the Belarusian transit rejected by Kiev.
Zelensky also admitted that Ukraine will not be able to continue to export grain in the same volumes without access to the sea.
“This way we will very quickly be able to export 10 million tons per month. If now we have 20-25 million tons blocked, then in the fall it could be 75 million. So, we can’t do it without ports,” Zelensky concluded.
