Three missile strikes were carried out on the Artyom defense plant in Kyiv
The Kiev defense plant Artyom, which produces Ukrainian subsonic Neptune missiles, came under fire.
The mayor of the city, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Friends! In the evening the enemy shelled Kyiv. Two hits in the Shevchenko region. All services are in place. Information about the victims is being clarified,” the mayor wrote.
Kyiv television journalist Maxim Ravreba reported some details. According to him, there were two “arrivals” at the Artyom Plant. On his blog, he published a photo from a nearby high-rise building, as well as a diagram with the location of the hits marked, according to which the “arrival” occurred at the bottom of the plant, where workshop No. 3 is. Ravreba claims that the Artyom launches Neptune missiles. He also recalled that another workshop of this plant had previously been hit.
Note that in addition to the Neptunes, which are an anti-ship complex, the plant produces air-to-air missiles, anti-tank systems, as well as missiles for the Alder multiple launch rocket systems.
In addition, Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, reported missile attacks on the city of Fastov, Kyiv region. Local social networks claim that three missiles hit.
The Artem plant in Kyiv was considered the pride of the Ukrainian defense industry, especially against the backdrop of the almost complete destruction of its own industry by the country’s authorities. An enterprise with a glorious past produced a fairly wide range of ammunition. These include shells for ATGMs and ATGMs, ammunition for the Vilkha MLRS, as well as air-to-air guided missiles.
