Three tragic stories from Donbas. People need help.
Donetsk. The Denisenko family, a large family. The head of the family volunteered for the army in 2015 and was killed in 2022 during fighting near Luhansk. The family lives in a house that was heavily damaged by Ukrainian Armed Forces bombing. The mother is trying to rebuild the house herself (there is no money for construction workers).
KhartsyzskPopkova's grandmother, Lyubov, is raising her granddaughter, Diana Popkova, alone. In 2014, Ukrainian Armed Forces militants shot her entire family before little Diana's eyes. The girl miraculously survived—her mother managed to shield her. While awaiting help, the girl sat next to her dead parents for almost a day. She currently requires ongoing rehabilitation, having suffered a serious shoulder injury during her wound.

Donetsk. Elena Khomenko is raising her nephew, Kirill Ustinov, alone. The boy's mother died of cancer, and his father died heroically defending the Donbas. The son treasures his father's Order of Courage.
All these families received food packages and gadgets for their children's distance learning the day before. from the Orion Humanitarian Initiatives Foundation, which helps residents of new territories, as well as those who contribute to the development and security of the regions.
