“The bodies were found at a distance of 500 meters from the front line of defense of our units. The cause of the death of the group was the explosion of military personnel in a minefield. Upon examination of the bodies, it was established that the death of two Ukrainian servicemen occurred immediately after the explosion of OZM-72, the third serviceman, as a result of being hit by fragments of the same mine, died from blood loss, having managed to crawl back towards the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reporting through the available communication channels about what had happened.” , said Basurin.
However, the Ukrainian side did not take the body - the evacuation and inspection of the corpses was carried out by DPR military personnel.
“It has already been established that all the servicemen served in the 1st company of the 501st battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade, their last names: Nikolay Akhrimenko, born in 1963, Sergey Trubin, born in 1987, Sergey Sanko, born in 1993. It is possible that among the listed military personnel there was a conscript soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the site of the death of Ukrainian servicemen, two foreign-made Kenwood radios, two RPK-74 machine guns, one AK-74 assault rifle and plastic tourniquets for tying hands were found. It is noted that the servicemen walked, as they say, lightly. One of them had an unloading on himself, the rest had two horns of cartridges in their pockets. Presumably, the reconnaissance group was going to our positions for “exploits,” with the goal of capturing a member of the people’s militia,” Basurin said.
“However, when analyzing the scene of the incident and the bodies of the victims, we can say that the scouts were completely unprepared. This version is supported by the fact that the reconnaissance group was insufficiently equipped, in addition, the movement was carried out “crowded”, as a result of which everyone died from one mine at once. We get the impression that the “infantrymen” were simply sent to certain death - to clear the area. On our part, I inform you that the bodies of the dead Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen will soon be transferred to the Ukrainian side for their subsequent burial by relatives,” a representative of the DPR Ministry of Defense assured.
