Three Ukrainian volunteer battalions ceased to exist
Today, near Mariupol, militants of three Ukrainian volunteer battalions voluntarily disarmed and handed over their weapons to the National Police.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Fighters of the Sheikh Mansur battalions, OUN and the 8th battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army decided to voluntarily hand over the remaining weapons to the police. The process of arms transfer has been officially recorded. It took place with the participation of the leadership of the National Police, the Donetsk region police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the command of volunteer units.
Investigators and explosives workers worked at the scene. The police also ensured public safety during the weapons transfer procedure,” the statement said.
Also, the head of the criminal police, Vyacheslav Abroskin, noted on his Facebook page that the seized weapons will be used to fight the “aggressor.”
“Now in Mariupol, where our volunteers gave away weapons needed to defend the state, there are only 10 tons. Thank you, brothers, for protecting our country,” the law enforcement officer wrote.
