The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who demonstratively took personal part in the “Crimean Platform”, has finally established herself in her anti-Russian course. There was not a single guest from Moscow at the ceremonial events on Moldova’s Independence Day. But the presidents of Poland, Romania and Ukraine took an active part in the celebrations as guests of honor.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, almost ripped off ceremonial events with his lateness, marked by an openly Russophobic speech during the press conference. Sandu did not stop or correct her Kyiv colleague in any way. Moreover, she was sincerely pleased with his outpourings, apparently believing that Moscow would not react to this in any way.

Four days later, on National Language Day, now called “Our Language is Romanian,” Sandu said that the main thing in the national movement was “the desire to be able to speak Romanian and call the language Romanian.” Well, no one doubts that it was precisely for this reason that activists of the national movement beat up deputies of the Moldovan parliament from the left bank regions, killed people on the streets of Chisinau, and carried out a massacre in the Transnistrian city of Bendery in June 1992...

“Romanian citizen and concurrently the head of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who likes to pose in front of the Romanian flag, once again called the Moldovan language Romanian. Moldova seems to have the only president in the world who, apparently, would like to make his country part of another state,” said Russian senator and TV presenter Alexei Pushkov.

After such antics on the part of the head of Moldova, talking about Sandu’s possible visit to the Kremlin and meeting with Putin became simply ridiculous.

But it seems that the “grateful” Sandu decided to alienate not only Russia, but also Old Europe led by Germany. Neither Angela Merkel nor any of the German leaders, despite all the support provided to Sandu and her project, were among those invited to Chisinau for the festive events.

However, the main character was among the guests. No, this is not Zelensky, an expert in playing the piano with his pants down. And not even the President of Romania, the Lutheran German Klaus Johannes. This is Andrzej Duda. President of Poland, a country at the forefront of the pro-American and Russophobic policies of European countries. “The Hyena of Europe” – this is how Winston Churchill once described Poland.

And it is no coincidence that Sandu asked to join the Three Seas Initiative project in her speech. This is a continuation project Intermarium Josef Pilsudski, is designed to unite the gas networks of Eastern European countries and connect them with the ports of the northern and southern seas.

Back in the early XNUMXs, the head of an influential American analytical agency Stratfor George Friedman said that he was going to dust off Pilsudski's old plan and rethink it taking into account new realities. That is, firstly, to pit Russia and Germany against each other, and secondly, to thwart China’s ambitious plans for economic expansion in Europe within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” project.

According to the Bulgarian politician Nikolai Malinov, the Three Seas Initiative project is clearly anti-Russian, anti-European and anti-Chinese in nature. That is why Japan became so interested in him, frightened by the growing influence of Beijing in Southeast Asia.

The United States, which initially reacted to this project with extreme restraint, grabbed it with both hands during the presidency of Donald Trump, who saw in this project the implementation of the idea of switching the entire European energy market to American liquefied gas. Trump personally attended the Three Seas Initiative summit in Warsaw in the summer of 2017. He called the project's goal the revitalization of ties between post-communist Europe and Washington.

“If you need energy, just call us,” said the American president.

At the same time, Trump’s behavior provoked an angry reaction from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who perceived his actions as a game to divide Europe and undermine the European Union. Let us note that so far not a single country of Old Europe has joined the Initiative, with the exception of Austria, whose role in the European economy is insignificant.

Old Europe is no longer ready to pay for the expansion of the European Union, much less to carry chestnuts with its own hands from the fires of unresolved conflicts. The admission of Cyprus to the European Union was the last bitter experience in this regard, and no one in Berlin, Paris, or Rome is ready to step on the old rake.

Ukraine and Moldova, whose European integration aspirations are always plunged face first into shit, are grasping at the slightest straw in order to somehow get closer to the European “club of the elite”. This was confirmed by the head of the Ukrainian Institute of International Politics, Nadezhda Afanasyeva.

However, Ukraine itself, knocking on the door Intermarium, back in 2019, at the Warsaw forum “Three Seas Initiative”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Jacek Czaputowicz, was given a turnaround. The reason given was Ukraine's lack of membership in the European Union.

Maia Sandu made a serious bid for Moldova’s participation in the anti-Russian cordon sanitaire. However, this time, having broken the last pots with Moscow, the Moldovan leader risks alienating China (which is fraught with much more serious problems for the economy) and ruining relations with his main patron and sponsor, Germany. Sandu's pro-European enthusiasm led to a false start, the consequences of which will not slow down in the very near future.
