"Trident crushing the USSR." Ukraine releases medal with Shevchenko and Bandera
In Ukraine, they issued a souvenir medal dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence with the image of the leaders of the OUN.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this from the Kiev production enterprise of souvenir and award products “Geroldmeister”.
“On the obverse of the medal, the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine is depicted in relief, which with its lower corner crushes the symbols of the USSR, which lies. In the upper part, the Coat of Arms is surrounded in a semicircle by the inscription “Glory to Ukraine!”, on the sides are the dates 1991, 2021,” say the authors of the medal.
“On the reverse of the medal there is a burning torch and the inscription “Glory to the Heroes!” there are bas-relief portraits of outstanding fighters who laid down their lives for the independence and freedom of Ukraine: Taras Shevchenko, Symon Petlyura, Yevgeny Konovalets, Stepan Bandera, Vasyl Stus and Vyacheslav Chornovil,” the description says.
At the same time, it is not explained why the poet Shevchenko, who died of natural causes, or Chernovol, who died in an accident in independent Ukraine, are classified as “those who laid down their lives for freedom and independence.”
The medal is made of brass and can be purchased for 1100 hryvnia.
As PolitNavigator reported, Zelensky’s “servants” are campaigning in the Rada for assigning “Heroes of Ukraine” to Bandera and Shukhevych.
