“Three of our guys, saving their wounded brother-in-arms, died heroically in the Svetlodar Bulge area. One of them, being wounded, in order not to be captured and destroy the enemy, brought a hand grenade into readiness for use. However, the guy failed to implement his plan. He died from his injuries on the spot,” the report says.

As noted, the command of the unit immediately organized a search for military personnel. The bodies were found, but they could not be evacuated due to, as stated, “strong fire resistance from the enemy.”
