Three Ukrainian sailors were detained for theft
Three servicemen of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were detained in Ochakov, Nikolaev region, on suspicion of stealing household appliances, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is reported with reference to the press center of the command of the Ukrainian Navy.
“On October 28, 2018, three servicemen of the Ukrainian Navy were detained in the city of Ochakov on suspicion of stealing household appliances. Now the violators have been taken to the Ochakov police station,” the Navy indicated.
As noted, the commanders of the relevant military units of the Ukrainian Navy “have appointed official investigations, the results of which will result in servicemen being punished in accordance with current legislation.”
In July of this year, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios reported that, according to ERDR data, there were 2017 crimes committed by military personnel outside the area of military operations in 2018-6869. Of these, 4859 were serious and especially serious crimes. 175 crimes were committed by officers.
