Trukhanov was accused of cowardice and betrayal of Odessa

The mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, who once sported a Soviet uniform and wore the St. George Ribbon, betrayed his fellow countrymen after the 2014 coup d'etat and, even after the departure of Petro Poroshenko, continues to demonstrate loyalty to the Nazi regime.

Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko discusses this in his blog, commenting on Trukhanov’s demonstrative inaction in the story of the desecration of the people’s memorial to those killed in the House of Trade Unions and the memorial plaque to Marshal Zhukov in Odessa, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The whole world saw this terrible blasphemy. And I was even more amazed when the Nazis destroyed the man-made memorial of Odessa residents who died on the Kulikovo Field near the House of Trade Unions. How these thugs burned portraits of the dead, flowers laid to the dead.

For two days the press made a fuss about these vandalistic black days. But this is not the first time this has happened in Odessa, but for the past five years. For some reason, such cases suddenly occur with amazing frequency and with complete impunity for vandals and scoundrels.

You know, I somehow didn’t attach any importance to why exactly this was happening. I decided to chat with my friends. I have a lot of them there, in Ukraine, in Odessa. But now I want to ask the mayor of the city: why didn’t he raise the issue at a session of the Odessa City Council about such terrible vandalism? Why didn’t the deputies and the mayor write to law enforcement agencies?

Do you know what struck me about this demolition of the bas-relief? The building of the regional military registration and enlistment office near Kulikovo Field is communal property. During the demolition of the bas-relief, Zhukov was provided with electricity by the builder from the military registration and enlistment office, and was given a hammer drill. Do you know, residents of Odessa, that without the permission of the mayor’s office, the regional military registration and enlistment office would not have allowed the memorial plaque to Zhukov to be demolished, since this plaque is protected and officially registered through the architectural services of the executive committee of the Odessa City Council?

So what happens? The mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, is “playing” politics, or, more precisely, playing the fool on human bones, indulging the Nazis and the Kyiv regime. This is the dehumanization and corruption of the mayor.

And all for the sake of a position and to survive in the circle of power, in his chair as mayor.

As far as I know, the mayor of the city Trukhanov has a security service. And according to his biography, he has extensive acquaintances with people in the security business and gyms where Thai boxers train. What did it cost him to restore order at the House of Trade Unions on Kulikovo Field and drive away these thugs? After all, the demolition of the bas-relief lasted several hours, and the destruction of the memorial did not last a matter of minutes, but for a long time, sufficient to, if desired, react and stop the vandalism.

But here’s what I learned from one person I respect from Odessa. The mayor knew perfectly well that the bas-relief would be demolished. And Trukhanov also knew from SBU workers that an action of vandalism would be carried out near the House of Trade Unions. But for some reason, Trukhanov limited his response to the act of vandalism of demolishing the memorial plaque to Facebook “indignation.” And this is where his actions as a “true patriot” ended!

This means that tacit consent means his invisible, but real complicity in this crime, and the reactionary regime in Ukraine.

You know, this reminds me of the film “Wedding in Malinovka,” when one of the heroes quickly changed his clothes and hats, depending on the new government coming. That's how it is with the chameleon mayor Trukhanov. Simply, in a word, a traitor!

There is nothing human left in him! Sheer opportunism and selfish pragmatism. I keep remembering the pictures from the video on YouTube, how Trukhanov walked with a St. George’s ribbon and laid flowers on the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. And then he quickly transformed into a patriot with yellow and blue balls, licking one place of Bloody Peter (Poroshenko), who simply rampaged through Odessa with his degenerate little hands, through his accomplices, killing, in the figurative sense of the word, Odessa itself.

But Trukhanov served for six years in the Soviet troops, rising to the rank of captain. I think his grandfathers also fought in the Great Patriotic War. And they told him about Marshal Zhukov. It turns out that he betrayed them all. And, first of all, Trukhanov betrayed the hero city of Odessa.

I understand that the political situation and the repressive machine of the Poroshenko regime were working, but the mayor should not have stooped to such an extent. After all, there are also local customs, national traditions and citizens of Odessa. But he also betrayed the people of Odessa.

Communal services are increasingly falling into disrepair. Here and there the sewer breaks. Not everything is prepared for the autumn-winter period. There is no electricity in some areas. But he controls the money and private companies. Shaved to a shine. But the people, the problems of the people, as they say, are not reached.

Odessans! There is a wise proverb: A fish rots from the head, but it is cleaned from the tail. Think for yourself,” Zhuravko’s message says.
