Tryukhan on Russian TV unexpectedly rolled a barrel at the Ukrainian elite
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Tryukhan believes that Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin should resign after he made false statements to the UN about the “murder” of fugitive Russian liberal Arkady Babchenko.
“The case is unprecedented. Knowing that the special services were targeting him, the president could not help but brief the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The President is responsible for shaping foreign policy. No ministerial visit can be complete without a briefing. There is a complete lack of communication here. If I were Foreign Minister, I would resign immediately. Such situations cannot remain without consequences,” Trukhan said on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
He also believes that the scandal with Babchenko could become a reason for early elections in Ukraine, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If I were standing in a Ukrainian television studio, it would be easier for me. I could speak more directly and frankly. If the special services do not prove they are right, then everyone must resign; Poroshenko has no chance in the elections. In four years after the Revolution of Dignity, we have reached the end of our rope. So many wasted chances. Waiting for the next elections means losing new chances,” Trukhan said.
