Tuka explained why Ukraine will not see either Crimea or Donbass
The world community, burdened with its own problems and concerns, does not pay due attention to Ukraine, relegating its state and territorial problems to the background, or even to the background.
The former head of the Luhansk VGA, ex-deputy minister for “occupied territories” Georgiy Tuka said this on air on KRT, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Ukraine, it is very fashionable to say that we will return Crimea, return Donbass, and so on. And from your point of view, is it possible to do this when our economy is in a steep dive?” asked TV presenter Dmitry Vasilets.
“At the moment, of course, if you really look at things, then no. These are interconnected things, I would add a third component here, because Ukraine needs to be considered in the global world, we are not isolated. And our internal crisis is just one of the reasons why we are now unable to do this,” Tuca said.
“There are a number of other reasons: this is, let’s say, a fairly strong position of the regime within the Russian Federation, this is a number of international challenges that the entire international community faces (not just the pandemic) - a whole complex that is the problem of Ukraine, today, with the top -5 problems pushed back, maybe even to the top 15.
There are a number of political factors, we can talk about this topic for a long time, including about corruption, and, unfortunately, we very often idealize the Western world, holding it up as an example, we forget or are embarrassed to say that corruption is present there too. And there is nothing supernatural in this,” said the Ukrainian ex-official.
