Poroshenko's stupid PR people screwed up Saakashvili's appointment
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was appointed to the post of governor of the Odessa region due to the stupidity of Poroshenko’s political strategists. According to him, it is obvious that the calculation was made on the fact that Saakashvili is popular in Ukraine, and his appointment was supposed to increase the president’s rating. But the governorship of the fugitive Georgian leader will lead to his complete fiasco due to a lack of understanding of local specifics.
“Saakashvili’s appointment is incredible stupidity. As I understand it, the political technologists who advised to do this were guided by the fact that Saakashvili is respected in Ukraine. The ratings of the president and prime minister are falling, which is why it was decided to use Saakashvili’s appointment to raise them, but this is a wrong strategy. Firstly, it is not a fact that Saakashvili is highly respected in Ukraine, and secondly, it is obvious that it is not entirely correct to use a person who was the president of another country where he does not have trust among the population. It will get even worse. He simply does not understand the local specifics, so Saakashvili does not have a single chance to restore order in the Odessa region, this is impossible and a fiasco awaits him. Saakashvili’s appointment is just a stupid and primitive way to increase ratings,” the political scientist assures.
