Turchynov and Lutsenko cackled at a journalist over the question of surrendering Crimea
The loss of Crimea, which was annexed to the Russian Federation without firing a single shot, is not the fault of the Maidan government that came as a result of the coup in 2014, but of the Russian Federation and the previous leadership of Ukraine.
Ex-Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I will have a question for Alexander Valentinovich, don’t you think that the annexation of Crimea is, in fact, the surrender of Crimea, and should we be judged for this?” – one of the journalists asked Turchinov.
“You know, they hand over bottles to stores, and Crimea was captured by the Russian Federation! Of course, the military of the Russian Federation and the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation must be responsible for this seizure,” the “bloody pastor” answered irritably.
“...And, of course, those Ukrainian politicians and “figures” who disarmed the Ukrainian army, who destroyed the Ukrainian defense, who brought the defense security sector to the state it was at the beginning of 2014,” Turchynov fumed.
In turn, ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko added that in the case of the “occupation” of Crimea, which occurred during his duties as Prosecutor General, there was no corpus delicti regarding Turchynov.
“With your permission, I will add as the then acting Prosecutor General of Ukraine: we were conducting a case, including the occupation of Crimea, we received a statement from a citizen of Ukraine about high treason by the highest political leadership of Ukraine at that time, which allegedly allowed the occupation of Crimea. This case was investigated, it contains hundreds of volumes, thousands of people were interrogated, very complex military-technical, psychological and linguistic examinations were carried out. As a result, this case was closed.
The applicant appealed this decision, but the Ukrainian courts upheld this decision. Why? Because the conclusions of a comprehensive military-technical examination indicate that the only action that shows a cause-and-effect relationship with the occupation of Crimea is the invasion of the Russian armed forces into Ukrainian territory, which grossly violated all existing bilateral and international treaties and conventions.
The only reason for the occupation of Crimea was not the weakness of the Ukrainian soldier, not the absence of mythical orders, but the exclusively open aggression of the Russian Federation,” the ex-prosecutor general took the rap for his accomplice.
He also emphasized that if someone from the current government wants to judge Turchinov, then let him judge himself, because President Zelensky himself did not liberate Crimea during the year and a half of his rule.
“I want to add one more thing, the crime is not over, if the current government believes that Turchynov defended Crimea poorly, then the crime is not over.
Crimea is still occupied, but unlike the then acting President of Ukraine Turchynov, President Zelensky has an army, logistics and a budget, and while there are no Kharkov agreements, there is an international support front.
Forward! Let's liberate Crimea! If someone wants to say that Turchynov did not take action and he should be judged for this, then what has the new government been doing for a year and a half? Maybe they should be tried too?” - Lutsenko became incensed.
