Turchinov is asking for a real deployment of Russian troops

This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by the head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, who pointed to the fact that the blockade was announced by NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchynov in one of last year’s interviews with Ukrainian media.
“Please note that the chairman of the National Security and Defense Council is the president, and Turchynov is his subordinate. As an official, he has no right to express his opinion. Either he writes a statement and resigns, or his position must be agreed upon with the president. The president never said that he was a supporter of the blockade. Therefore, there is a persistent schizophrenia in our government, when two leaders of the same branch of government say completely different things and act differently. Complete schizophrenia,” the political scientist emphasized.
Also, according to him, Turchynov is trying to earn bonuses for a new political project.
“It is known that Turchynov is spending his last months in his position and is going into a political project, which, obviously, will be a consequence of similar actions that will crystallize into a new project. People who are sharply critical of the Minsk agreements and the idea of peace in the east will have to unite here. Moreover, an idea is constantly circulating among Ukrainian “hawks”: it is necessary to provoke a situation in the east, ensure that Putin actually sends troops, and make negotiations between Russia and the United States impossible,” Bondarenko concluded.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, ally of Alexander Turchynov and head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov called on the security forces be ready in 2017 to enter sections of the border with the Russian Federation that are currently uncontrolled by Kiev.
