Turchynov on the positives of Maidan: Ukrainians were deprived of “stable food”, work and “burned” the possibility of returning to the USSR
The blood and corpses on the Maidan were of enormous importance for the country. Thanks to them, there is no longer any way back to the Soviet Union.

This was stated by the head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and one of the leaders of the Maidan, Alexander Turchynov, in an interview with the Kyiv publication Censor.NET, which is considered his unofficial mouthpiece.
“The fires of Maidan burned for Ukraine and Ukrainians the very possibility of such a putrid, quiet slide towards the old slave stall. Not filling, but stable food, everything is clear, someone makes decisions for you, someone knows where to go, and everyone’s task is to praise the leaders and work. Maidan blew up this Stalin-Putin formula, and this was his main achievement, his main decision in the fate of our country,” said the head of the National Security and Defense Council.
It is interesting that in order to mobilize protest-minded masses to participate in the Maidan, its organizers distributed leaflets that stated that all this was “not for Europe,” and especially not against Russia, but that the emphasis was on social demands. After the victory of the Maidan, the new government began to pursue a policy completely opposite to the demands put forward that lured the people to the Maidan.
