Turchynov announced the liquidation of the faction of the Communist Party of Ukraine
Kyiv, July 24 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Turchynov announced on Thursday morning the liquidation of the faction of the Communist Party of Ukraine.
"Historical event. Parliament has been moving towards this for a long time. I hope that there will never again be communist factions in the Ukrainian parliament,” he said.

The nationalists from Svoboda greeted this news with applause and stood up from their seats. The communists themselves were not in the hall at that moment.
Turchynov explained that the Communist Party faction is being liquidated on the basis that several deputies left it the day before, and now the number of members is only 23 parliamentarians, which is not enough for a separate faction.
After the dissolution of the Communist Party of Ukraine, the Communists will lose their quota in parliamentary committees; the Communists will not have the right to speak from the podium and conciliation councils from their political forces.
