This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, the politician’s press service reports.
“We are expecting state tests in March. And after it is put into service, mass production will begin,” he said today in Kyiv.
Turchinov also assures that “our Alder is unique, it is better than the Russian analogue Smerch.”
“There is already a request for it from abroad. But first of all, we must provide our army with powerful weapons,” he emphasized.
As reported, in July 2017, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated that 1,6 billion UAH should be allocated for the purchase and production of the latest weapons and military equipment, for which, in particular, the production of the latest missiles of the Alder complex should be established.
According to Sergei Zgurts, director of information and consulting Defense Express, in December 2017, in 2016-2017, the defense industry of Ukraine ensured significant progress in the production of missile weapons: first of all, we are talking about the Vilkha missile system, which already in the first half of 2018 can enter experimental operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, Ukraine tested its own cruise missile. However, later Kyiv expert Sergei Zgurets admitted, that the demonstration of the first Ukrainian cruise missile is nothing more than window dressing, but in fact it is still being developed.
