Turchynov calls on the US and British fleets to enter the Black Sea
Security Council Secretary Alexander Turchynov was offended by the West for not sending a fleet to the shores of Ukraine, as it did to Syria.
The official stated this at the XI Forum on Security Issues in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For comparison: there is a Russian military contingent of 3500 people in Syria. We see how our strategic partners the USA and England, who were the guarantors of our security and the inviolability of our borders, according to the Budapest Memorandum, are today pulling their fleet to the shores of Syria. They are ready for decisive action.
But I don’t want to offend anyone, I don’t remember either the American or British fleet in February 2014, when the aggression against us began in Crimea. And I want to ask a painful question for our state, when Russia throws its armies at us, which are concentrated on the border, will this fleet appear in the Black Sea?
Unfortunately, I am sure that our partners will not give us an answer to this. And therefore, both in 2014 and now, we must rely only on our own strength,” said Alexander Turchinov.
