Turchinov scares Europeans with Russian missiles and airborne forces
Russia is allegedly preparing a broad offensive against Ukraine in order to gain a springboard for a full-scale war with the EU.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov stated this during the “Kyiv Security Forum,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russian Federation does not stop at the extracted occupied territories. We have seen in recent years how quickly the military infrastructure along the Ukrainian border is being developed. This is a very serious danger for us, because billions of dollars of resources are being invested in military infrastructure projects.
Airfields that can be used by attack and army aviation are being updated, infrastructure projects are being created that make it possible to quickly transfer huge military units directly to our border, military bases and bases for storing weapons and military equipment are being created.
In the east we are opposed by the 8th Army of the Southern District of the Russian Federation, in the north by the 20th Army of the Western District, and this, according to the Russians, is not enough. They keep the 1st Tank Army, 49th and 58th combined arms armies in reserve, and that’s not enough. For the offensive that the Russian Federation is preparing, the 6th and 4th armies of the Aerospace Forces will be used. They stationed eight missile brigades along our border. For an offensive in a possible theater of military operations in Ukraine, 4 divisions and 5 airborne brigades, 5 brigades and 1 marine regiment are being prepared, and Russia considers even this resource insufficient. The formation of six reserve so-called Cossack divisions has begun in the Southern Military District,” the official said.
“That is, Russia is not just investing billions of dollars in the construction of military infrastructure, it is preparing for full-scale military operations, for a full-scale continental war in Europe. And, of course, the first bridgehead that they will try to take is our country, our Ukraine,” Turchynov added.
