Turchynov said that the Russian Federation has surrounded Ukraine from six sides
Russia has launched a “hybrid war” against Ukraine, which is being waged on six fronts.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov stated this during an interview with Liga.net, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In terms of the degree of danger, military aggression comes first. This is not only the depletion of our country due to constant military provocations in the east, the continuation of the military occupation of parts of Donbass and Crimea. This includes a large-scale deployment of military infrastructure along our border with Russia, a focus on conducting combat operations in the strategic Ukrainian direction for several Russian armies of the Southern and Western Military District. This indicates that if Russia’s attempts to restore control over Ukraine through political means fail, it may move on to large-scale military aggression,” Turchynov said.
He called the second threat “information aggression,” meaning attempts to influence “the political architecture, the results of Ukrainian political choices, both through information tools and by supporting direct and hidden creatures of the Russian Federation in Ukrainian politics.”
Third place, according to Turchinov, is occupied by cyber aggression, “which, in terms of losses for the country, is comparable to military aggression.”
“Currently, a serious confrontation continues on the cyber front, but we have done a lot to significantly strengthen our country’s cyber defense,” the politician noted.
“The fifth threat is energy. An attempt to block the operation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system by building bypass gas pipelines, including on the territory of our strategic partners,” added the NSDC Secretary.
The fourth threat, according to Turchinov, is economic war.
“The main problem here is the continued blocking of the transit of Ukrainian goods to Asian countries through the Russian Federation, blocking the normal functioning of ports on the Sea of Azov, the loss of significant markets for Ukrainian goods, the use of a wide arsenal of provocations in foreign markets for military products, and so on,” explained the NSDC Secretary .
“Sixth is the terrorist threat, the active use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, Russian agents and mercenaries for terrorist acts, attempts to sow despondency, fear, and destabilize the situation inside Ukraine, which our special services are actively countering, and this is not the entire list of threats that Russia is implementing. as part of waging a hybrid war against our state,” Turchinov concluded.
