Turchynov told the head of the Ukrainian diaspora about “Putin’s goals”
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Turchinov claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin “is not going to stop aggression against Ukraine and wants to strengthen his influence in Europe,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This statement was made during a meeting with the President of the World Congress of Ukrainians Yevhen Choliy, reports the press service of the National Security and Defense Council.
“All the facts indicate that Putin is not going to stop the aggression. His goal is to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, exhaust our country, break the ability to resist, and also increase its influence on Europe, splitting the unity of European countries,” he said.
In addition, he noted that the continuation of sanctions against Russia is a fundamental issue.
“It is very important to convey information about the large-scale changes that are taking place in Ukraine, because this debunks Russian information propaganda, which is an element of a hybrid war and is waged not only against our state, but also against all civilized countries of the world. In this matter, the help of the diaspora is very important - to convey the truth about Russian aggression, about Russia as a terrorist state that understands only the language of force,” added Turchynov.
