Turchinov spoke about his meetings with Putin
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov spoke in an interview with the Kyiv publication Gordon about his meetings with Vladimir Putin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I spoke with Putin twice. He didn’t make any impression on me: gray, ordinary - nothing special. When such people gain absolute, unlimited power, serious problems begin,” he said.
According to Turchinov, he met with the Russian president not one-on-one, but as part of a delegation.”
“Well, did you “communicate”? Took part in the negotiations. It was 2005 and, in my opinion, 2008. I was then the head of the Security Service of Ukraine and the first deputy prime minister, respectively,” he recalls.
Turchynov also said that he had no desire to congratulate Putin on his election as president for a new term.
“You know, I have no desire to congratulate him, especially since there was no election. He simply extended his powers, and it seems that he will extend them in the near future for an unlimited period. But human life is finite. His power will also be final, and this end can happen much faster than he can imagine,” added Turchynov.
