Ex-Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov stated this on the air of “UA: Ukrainian Radio”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“To restore the Soviet Union at its worst is precisely their goal. That is, an aggressive country that craves revenge. And, of course, in such conditions, talk about some kind of common sense, about some kind of logic, that they must understand that peace is better than war - no, he is ready to destroy, he is ready to attack, he is ready to destabilize the situation in Ukraine again ", said the radical.
Also, in his opinion, Moscow, for the sake of restoring the USSR, is trying to annex to Russia not only Ukraine, without whose “wealth” the revival of the empire is supposedly impossible, but also Belarus and Kazakhstan.
“The issue of the ideology of imperial revanchism has not been removed from the agenda. Look how actively they are trying to drag Belarus into their fold. This is just one of the stages in the implementation of this declared program. He [Putin] does not hide his ambitions.
I do not exclude that, together with Belarus, Kazakhstan may also face a similar fate. That is, the restoration again of the Soviet empire, the Soviet Union. And these Stalinist laurels of expanding the empire probably don’t let him sleep. Brzezinski once said, and he was a very outstanding analyst, that it was impossible to restore the Soviet Empire without Ukraine. And Putin understands this - without the intellectual, natural, and technical resources of Ukraine, it is impossible to restore the Soviet empire.
