Turchynov: Russia is preparing to capture Kyiv, we urgently need to dig trenches
The United States handed over data to Kyiv about the preparation of a strike by the Russian army from the territory of Belarus.
This is stated in a statement by former Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“US intelligence agencies officially provided the military-political leadership of Ukraine with information about the preparation of an attack (invasion) of Russian troops from the territory of Belarus. The main offensive priority of the Russian General Staff is the Kiev strategic direction. For this purpose, there is a concentration of troops on the Kremlin-controlled territory of Belarus, as well as the preparation of provocations in the border region by the special services of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leadership is not taking any measures to cover the capital and repel a possible attack.
Under these conditions, it is necessary to immediately begin preparing defensive lines. Complete the formation, training and arming of the terrorist defense brigades of all border regions. Immediately transfer a mechanized brigade of the reserve corps to the area of the predicted attack of the aggressor (Ovruch-Ivankov). “Equip the mechanized brigade and the defense brigade with anti-tank missile systems “Stugna”, “Korsar”, as well as those provided by the British government NLAW (SAAB),” Turchynov calls.
