Turchynov leaves Poroshenko for Avakov
Secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council Alexander Turchynov several times refused the offer of the country's President Petro Poroshenko to head his election headquarters.
The Kiev weekly “Mirror of the Week” writes about this today.
According to the publication, the reason was the unauthorized use of National Corps militants by the head of the presidential administration, Igor Rainin, to carry out a pogrom in the Kharkov City Council. This allegedly caused strong dissatisfaction with the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.
“According to our information, the Minister of Internal Affairs, who does not have a strong love for the Kharkov mayor, was nevertheless quite surprised that his resource (official and public) was used by someone without his knowledge,” writes Zerkalo Nedeli.
An outraged Avakov allegedly demonstratively left the last meeting of the so-called “strategic nine” - the informal government body of post-Maidan Ukraine.
“In response to the president’s irritated question about what matters might be more important than communication with the head of state, the minister emphatically repeated “important” and left. By the way, even earlier, the prime minister also retreated from the same meeting, also citing being busy,” writes Zerkalo Nedeli.
Allegedly, after this, Turchynov began to drift towards Avakov and Yatsenyuk.
