Turchynov: Ukraine is building roads for Russian tanks
The Kiev government allocates billions of dollars for road construction, while Ukraine's defense leaves much to be desired.
Ex-Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel controlled by the oligarch and ex-President Petro Poroshenkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Cabinet of Ministers stated that they have overfulfilled the budget. This is good, but there is aggression, and where did the money go? More than 20 billion were again spent on building roads, not on building defensive lines, not on increasing salaries for military personnel. The Minister of Defense says: “It would be advisable to increase it by 10 thousand, or 13 thousand, but there is no money for this.” For whom are you building roads, for Russian tanks? Is this a responsible attitude towards defending your country?” - the politician is indignant.
In addition, he noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are sorely short of fuel.
“You can ask the soldiers, not only on the front line, but also in the rear, are there any threats? They will answer: “We have no fuel!” There is no fuel in the volumes that are needed not even for combat missions, but for everyday ones,” Turchynov concluded.
We would like to remind you that earlier it was stated in Kyiv that Ukraine may soon face shortage of petroleum products due to reduced supplies from Belarus.
In addition, Kiev noted that rising oil prices have reduced the margins of trade in petroleum products, and market operators will soon be forced raise gasoline prices and diesel fuel.
