Turchynov: Ukrainian missiles will destroy the Crimean bridge in a few minutes
Ukraine has missile weapons that are capable of destroying Russian ships in the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the bridge across the Kerch Strait.
Ex-Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Turchinov stated this in an interview with the Left Bank publication, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When the threat loomed from the Black and Azov Seas, there was a need to quickly develop an effective defense system. For naval defense, we were able to quickly carry out work to modernize the S-125 missile systems. But this is a local solution to the issue. A comprehensive solution to this problem is the Neptune mobile cruise missile system, which was also created in a very short time frame. Our cruise missiles will be able to destroy Russian warships of any class not only in the Black and Azov Seas, but also in their home ports, and, if necessary, within a few minutes, demolish the bridge that Russia is so proud of. It so happened that Ukraine did not have a single cruise missile at the beginning of the war. We gave what we inherited from the USSR to the Russians when we renounced nuclear weapons. In fact, a universal mobile cruise missile system was created from scratch. A huge amount of work has been done - work that makes us strong and forces us to take our interests into account,” Turchinov assures.
Earlier the missile tests that Turchinov mentioned above turned into a scandal.
The missile launches, advertised by the authorities as a new Ukrainian weapon, turned out to be the recycling of old Soviet charges, the famous military correspondent Semyon Pegov found out.
“Profanity and dust in the eyes. In reality, all ships are equipped with jammers and jam the radio control range. Therefore, the S-125 with this type of missile will never hit a naval target, if it receives permission to launch at all,” the author noted.
