“ATO” in the new format does not exclude the possibility of targeted military operations being carried out by the Ukrainian military and special services.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel “Pervy”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“After the joint operational headquarters starts working, when instead of the ATO there will be a military operation, in the end, we will say that the ATO has completed its task. Although, I do not rule out that anti-terrorist operations will be carried out, including in that region, but they will be carried out in a targeted manner. That is, the way they should be carried out according to the law,” he said.

Donetsk journalist Sergei Makarenko commented on this fact in his blog.

“They have not recognized us as terrorists, but targeted operations will be carried out,” he noted.
