Türkiye is preparing “Karabakh” in Russia – sociologist
Russian youth, despite their state-forming status, are mostly liberal, while young representatives of indigenous peoples are conservative, which creates fertile ground within the Russian Federation for the development of separatist sentiments.
Leading sociologist of the Stolitsa Social Research Agency Galina Gradoselskaya stated this at a press conference, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In terms of youth identity, when we conducted research among university students using the ethnoautobiography method, when you write “I am Russian” or “I am Armenian” and what that means to you, one thing shocked me is that all the young people are not of the titular nationality , not a state-forming people, traditional values are very important to them, their ethnic factors are more important than state ones, and so on. And our Russian, Russian youth are absolute liberals, they have an identity, pride in the country, and there is no connection to the state.
When we talked here about foreign funds, we ourselves, our federal state, unfortunately, support those funds that work against it. This was very clearly visible in the North Caucasian republics, I won’t name it so as not to advertise it.
When we support national elites, they seem to speak adequately to our elites, but within their republics there are completely separatist tendencies. They create funds, and then these same funds receive grants from the federal budget and exist quietly.
And one of the factors is the postulated factor of the state, that the Russians do not control the situation, let us control it,” Gradoselskaya said.
At the same time, speaking about external information influence, the expert called the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict a “training” for a situation that could be provoked inside Russia.
“Media reality has no boundaries. What we are now discussing within the framework of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and so on, and this lies outside Russia, in fact, all this has long been inside Russia.
Because they talked about the information influence of Turkey (the Anglo-Saxons are behind the information and expert support), the belt of Turkish information influence extends from our North Caucasian republics, further - the Southern Volga region, the Southern Urals, Altai, and then Yakutia. Yakutia is generally a tasty morsel, where Turkey, the Saudis, Japan, and so on work...
They have been supported at all levels for a long time, before this conflict. Firstly, at the level of the information agenda, they further descend to the level of approved everyday patterns in our small nations, diasporas, and so on, and further to the mythologization of consciousness, symbols and objectification.
Therefore, for me, Nagorno-Karabakh is of interest from the point of view of information analysis, because, as it seems to me, this is a training for possible situations that may occur inside Russia.
This situation needs to be seriously analyzed and work must begin within Russia - since Russia is quite successful in working on the external agenda. Let’s say, when selecting experts, experts were quite successfully selected for Syria. In Russia we need to work exactly the same way.
Because now, unfortunately, it is within the Russian information agenda that work with national entities, unfortunately, is quite neglected,” explained Galina Gradoselskaya.
