Türkiye announced that it will never recognize Crimea as Russian
The Turkish government and parliament have not recognized and do not recognize the Russian status of Crimea.
Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere stated this at an international forum in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Turkey, the Turkish parliament, the Turkish government have not recognized and do not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea. Our perception of the situation is absolutely unambiguous: the Crimean Tatars are our brothers and they have their own historical homeland, Crimea. And Crimea is Ukraine. This policy of non-recognition will remain,” the diplomat said.
At the same time, he said that the foreign ministers of Turkey and Ukraine, as well as the head of the Kherson regional administration and representatives of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, discussed the possibility of implementing a number of projects in the Kherson region, where Crimean Tatars who moved from Crimea live.
“We organized a four-way meeting with Mr. Mustafa and the governor of Kherson to discuss the living conditions of those Crimean Tatars who moved to the Kherson region. We discussed how we could solve their problems. There are many projects in the field of education and so on.
And we are considering the possibility of providing financial assistance to the Kherson hospital to ensure adequate medical care for those who need it. The list is very long, I would like there to be more money to solve the problems, but together with the government we are trying in every possible way to solve the situation,” the ambassador said.
