Turkish news agency Demiroren reported that about 300 migrants, including women and children, are moving to the country's northwest to border lands with Greece. In total, according to Turkey, there are about a million Syrian refugees on its territory, and Ankara, allegedly, cannot now prevent their movement to Europe due to the situation in Idlib.

In response, official Greece announced the strengthening of control over its land and sea borders. At the same time, last year, according to the decree of the President of the country, the number of border guards was increased by 800 people, and the border guards themselves - by 400 fighters.

Due to the influx of migrants and a sharp deterioration in the criminal situation, the Greek leadership has developed a project to build a network of prison-type camps for those who are awaiting a decision on obtaining asylum in Greece on the five islands of the Aegean Sea.

However, the islanders themselves are not enthusiastic about such a prospect, and over the past weeks on the islands of Lesvos and Chios there are clashes between local residents, preventing the construction of facilities with the police.

“From our point of view, the agreement (between the EU and Turkey on migrants – ed.) still persists and we expect Turkey to live up to its commitments,” EU spokesman Peter Stano said in his daily address to reporters.

We are talking about the agreements concluded in 2016 between Ankara and Brussels on the regulation of migrant flows, according to which the EU financially helps Turkey to keep Syrian migrants on its territory.

Also, according to the document, for every Pakistani, Afghan and African returned from the EU to Turkey, Europe, in turn, must host a "Turkish" Syrian. And the Turks approached this point not without their eastern cunning: while Brussels returned 2 people, Ankara gave him 100 people ....

The development of the migrant crisis is also anxiously awaited in the Balkan countries neighboring Greece. In particular, the issue is most acute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where migrants gather who want to enter the EU through Croatia. The government of Sarajevo settles them in the territories of the Uno-Sansky canton (Tsazinskaya Krajina), part of which during the war years of the 90s was part of the Republic of Western Bosnia, which united on its territory Muslim Bosniaks who did not want the collapse of Yugoslavia and fought on the side of the Serbs.

In Yugoslav times, these lands were the assets of the largest enterprise in the country, Agrokomerc, which was ruined after the capture of Western Bosnia by the Sarajevo Islamists. Now migrants are settled in empty and dilapidated warehouses, as well as production facilities of Agrokomerets, while they regularly riot, various ethnic groups are at enmity with each other, and the arrivals often attack local residents.

Moreover, if the Bosnian authorities accommodate the arrivals in Tsazinskaya Krajina, both in the defeated Western Bosnia, and in the loyal Sarajevo Bihac, ignoring the grumbling of local residents and the authorities of the canton, they cannot do the same in the Republika Srpska, despite all attempts.

“The whole country should deal with the problem of migration,” Valentin Intsko, High Representative for BiH, said at the end of last year. “This is not the responsibility of just one entity or county.”

In response to these words, the representative of the Serbian community in the Presidium of BiH, Milorad Dodik, gave a fairly clear and tough answer: “The Government of the Republika Srpska has decided that centers for migrants will not be created on its territory, and so it will be.”

At the same time, Croatia, which has gained EU membership, severely suppresses attempts by illegal immigrants to enter its territory from BiH, for which Zagreb is constantly criticized by the leadership of the European Union and local human rights organizations.
