The State Duma has not yet received the agreement, TASS reports, citing Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the parliamentary committee on international affairs.

“On our part, there are still some questions at the government level. As soon as the document is submitted to the State Duma, we will immediately talk about it, perhaps we will hold special parliamentary hearings together with the Energy Committee, because this is an infrastructurally significant file in the energy sector, in the area of our cooperation on natural gas supplies not only with Turkey.” , said Slutsky.

The Turkish Stream project was announced by the Russian leadership in December 2014 as a replacement for South Stream. It was planned that the offshore section of the Turkish Stream would consist of four lines with a capacity of 15,75 billion cubic meters. m each. However, negotiations on the project were subsequently suspended, including due to the crisis in bilateral relations.

Following the results of negotiations between Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg in August of this year, it was decided to resume work on the Turkish Stream.

The project involves the construction of a gas pipeline across the Black Sea to the European part of Turkey and further to the border with Greece. The length of the offshore part of the gas pipeline should be about 910 km, and the onshore part on Turkish territory – 180 km. The total cost of the project was estimated at 11,4 billion euros. It is assumed that gas supplies along the first line will be entirely intended to meet the needs of the growing Turkish market.
