Türkiye disrupts Russia's mediation efforts on Karabakh - general
The establishment of a truce in Nagorno-Karabakh is being hampered by Turkey, which is inciting Baku to war against the Armenians.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was expressed in a commentary to TASS by the chief adviser to the Prime Minister of Armenia, the former Minister of Defense of the Republic, Lieutenant General Vagharshak Harutyunyan.
“Fierce fighting is currently taking place in Artsakh, despite the fact that an agreement on a ceasefire for humanitarian purposes was adopted in Moscow with the mediation of the Russian Federation. This means that Ankara is putting every possible pressure on the Azerbaijani authorities, and they, in turn, are disrupting the mediation mission of the Russian Federation in order to increase Turkey’s role in resolving the conflict,” Harutyunyan said.
Let us recall that a truce was recently announced in Nagorno-Karabakh, where fierce fighting broke out between Armenians and Azerbaijanis for control of the region. But already that night the Azerbaijani troops attacked the Karabakh capital.
