Türkiye. Two policemen killed in battle with IS
Turkish police carried out a major raid against Islamic State militants on Monday. 17 addresses were checked in the South-East of Turkey and at one of them, law enforcement officers ran into desperate resistance from terrorists.
Turkish police received operational information about the location of two Islamist safe houses located on the same stairwell in a house on 53rd Street in the Huzurevleri quarter of the Kayapınar district in the city of Diyarbakir in the south of the country.
It is worth noting that this area, like the city as a whole, is populated predominantly by Kurds, and special operations against militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party have already taken place here previously. The approaches to the terrorists' hideout turned out to be mined by them, and when one of the explosive devices detonated, two Turkish security forces were killed and four more were injured.

After this, Turkish special forces launched an assault, a fierce battle ensued, as a result of which seven terrorists were killed and twelve more were captured. As Turkish government spokesman Numan Kurtulmuş said: “an important cell of the Islamic State was neutralized.” “The work to identify (militants - ed.) and disclose their organizations in other cities is still ongoing,” the official stated.

Previously, there have been no such clashes with IS militants within the country in Turkey. There was only a border incident. But the province of Diyarbakir is the scene of constant actions by Kurdish rebels and special operations by Turkish security forces.
And on Sunday, Turkish aircraft struck forces of the Kurdish YPG militia of Syria, or in Royawa, as the Kurds themselves call the region, near the border town of Tel Abied. Thus, Turkey is increasingly drawn into confrontation with both the Kurds and the most radical Islamists on both sides of its border.
