Türkiye got involved in open battles on the side of terrorists
Turkish troops in Syria help terrorists not only with artillery preparation, but also provide them with a “Turkish umbrella” if they advance - securing the captured territories and actually removing the militants from the attack of Syrian and allied forces.
Russian military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny spoke about this during a live broadcast from the Syrian province of Idlib on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we talk about how the terrorists of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham operate, their tactics are quite simple: first, the Turkish military begins artillery preparation, they use both barrel and rocket artillery, and they use high-precision ammunition, this suggests that Turkey does not have financial resources regrets in order to hit the Syrian army. They also use MLRS with cluster munitions, which have a high-explosive fragmentation part.
After this, the militants approach the Syrian military at maximum speed, they do this so that the Syrian artillery cannot stop them, because in their own way the Syrians will not hit, and they engage in close combat, trying to knock out government fighters with grenade launchers and small arms weapons from positions in order to quickly occupy a particular area. And then the following happens: after this, the militants count on the “Turkish umbrella” - on the fact that Turkey will declare its presence in the area occupied by the militants, and then it will be politically difficult to attack this area. Still, Syria, Russia, and Iran here, unlike Ankara, observe gentleman’s agreements.
This situation has been going on for several weeks now, with Ankara openly supporting the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham essentially in order to save the headquarters of the former al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria. Ankara introduced five battalions of tactical groups into the territory of the Syrian province of Idlib - that’s about 4 thousand soldiers and officers, about a hundred tanks, two hundred armored vehicles, dozens of cannon and rocket artillery units, and now drones,” Poddubny said.
