Türkiye has allocated money to transform Kosovo militants into a full-fledged army
During his visit to Kosovo, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met with the “Prime Minister” of the region Albin Kurti and the “Minister of Defense” Armend Mehai.

“Turkey is a great supporter, friend and partner of Kosovo,” Kurti said following the meeting. “Our countries and people have traditionally had close ties, and our governments have worked closely together since independence.”
The leader of the Albanian separatists also thanked Turkey and President Erdogan for their enormous support for Kosovo’s independence and the recognition process itself. Stressing that Kosovo has a lot to learn from Turkey and the Turkish armed forces, Kurti expressed gratitude to Ankara for its excellent military programs and joint exercises, which “provide many opportunities to improve the skills” of the fighters of the so-called Kosovo Security Forces (FSK).
“I am especially grateful for Turkish donations to our defense of $1,3 million in 2021, as well as equipment and training across the board. We hope that we will continue to work to further develop our cooperation in this direction,” Kurti said.
In turn, the Turkish guest emphasized that Turkey has made great efforts to ensure that Kosovo takes its rightful place in the international arena. He confirmed his continued support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of the region, the transformation FSK into a full-fledged army and economic development of Kosovo.
