Several Turkish media outlets immediately made critical assessments of the investigation into the crash of the Malaysian Boeing (flight MH-17) in the Donbass in the summer of 2014. The publications say that Ukraine, insisting on Russia’s guilt, extracted “evidence” through torture, blackmail and kidnapping.

“Kyiv immediately blamed the rebels of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for the incident. They, in turn, stated that they did not have air defense systems capable of shooting down air targets at such a height...

The Ukrainian law enforcement agencies organized their own “activities” aimed at collecting the evidence necessary for the Ukrainian side. In August 2017, the media reported the abduction of Daria Mastikasheva by SBU officers. The woman was the common-law wife of the famous Ukrainian analyst Sergei Sokolov, who is known for investigating the MH-17 crash and blaming the Ukrainian authorities for the incident. It is known from media reports that Daria Mastikasheva, along with her friend Alexander Karatay, was kidnapped by SBU officers on August 15, 2017. Ukraine accused her of high treason, and already on August 16, evidence was fabricated of her guilt in inciting terrorist activities and high treason.

After some time, media representatives managed to interview Mastikasheva, who said that she was constantly beaten, strangled and abused in the basements of the SBU building in order to obtain confessions to offenses that she did not commit. Her lawyer Valentin Rybin and her common-law husband Sergei Sokolov sounded the alarm regarding torture by the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. In particular, Sokolov appealed to the ECHR and a number of international organizations: Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the World Organization against Torture.

Sergei Sokolov believes that Mastikasheva’s kidnapping was related to his professional activities. The SBU sought to exert forceful influence on the course of the independent investigation using such methods. As an expert at the Analytics and Security information center, he studied the crash of flight MH-17 and openly stated that Ukraine could be involved in the 2014 crash,” – writes the publication Aydinlik.

Another Turkish publication – Ulusal - reminds how ex-DPR officer Vladimir Tsemakh was kidnapped from the Donbass by the SBU - his “stunned and taken out under the guise of a disabled person" At the same time, former militiaman Aleksandr Nevedrov was kidnapped, “who at the time of the Boeing 777 crash was in positions near the city of Zhdanovka, which is 30 kilometers from the place where the plane crashed. For this reason, he could hardly hear or see anything during the disaster.».

Nevedrov said that he was tortured to force him to give false testimony about the crash of the Boeing 777:

“I gave testimony to three UN representatives on video camera in the case of the downed Boeing just as the SBU told me. I studied this text for about a week under physical pressure,” the Turkish publication quotes the former rebel.

“The evidence base collected by the SBU officers is filled with ambiguous circumstances, in particular the testimony of people who were at a considerable distance from the scene of the tragedy. At the same time, the database also includes eyewitness accounts who claim to have seen the event at an altitude of 10 kilometers, which is hardly possible for objective reasons. However, it was the SBU documents that became one of the grounds during the proceedings in the Dutch court,” – write the Turkish media, making it clear that the “evidence” of Ukraine cannot be trusted.
