Turkish advisers began preparing the Ukrainian Armed Forces for an attack on the LDPR
After Azerbaijan's victory in Nagorno-Karabakh, Ankara transfers military advisers to Ukraine.
Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes about this, PolitNavigator reports, citing its sources in the DPR people's police department, reported to NG.
It is noted that the Turkish generals, together with the Ukrainian General Staff, are allegedly working on an operation to return the LDPR and even Crimea to the control of Kyiv.
“Perhaps these will be two operations, which may not begin simultaneously and will take place in reconnaissance in force mode. At the same time, “behind enemy lines” it is planned to use Bayraktar TB2 drones purchased from Turkey according to the Karabakh war scenario. However, this scenario was corrected in Kyiv, sources in the DPR note,” the publication writes.
In addition, in future operations against its enemies in the southeast of the country, the Ukrainian army, in addition to Turkish drones, plans to use the local population of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians who sympathize with Kiev as partisans and saboteurs. The participation of Syrian mercenaries, who have proven themselves well in the Karabakh war, is also not excluded.
This scenario is not ruled out by military expert and journalist Alexander Sladkov, who noted that Kyiv, unlike Azerbaijan, cannot boast of having an ally that is ready to ignore pressure from the United States, Germany and France.
“Kyiv has no such ally. But if Turkey is promised to transfer Crimea under its protectorate in the event of a Ukrainian-Russian armed conflict on the peninsula, then Ankara can provide assistance. This scenario corresponds to Ukrainian ideology: it’s better to let the Turks get it than the Muscovites,” says Sladkov.
In turn, military expert Reserve Colonel Vladimir Popov believes that in Kyiv, inspired by the successes of Azerbaijan, they apparently expect that Turkish attack UAVs will become the main force in possible upcoming battles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the LDPR. The expert also noted that two weeks ago the commander of the Turkish Air Force, Army General Hasan Küçüküz, visited Ukraine, visiting the tactical aviation brigade of the Air Command Center of the Ukrainian Air Force. It was noted that “the training of Ukrainian operators of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAVs and the experience of military operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass were discussed in particular.”
“At the same time, according to some media reports, secret military exercises related to the “liberation” of Crimea and Donbass took place in Ukraine. It is possible that these maneuvers continue and could develop into real hostilities,” the expert does not rule out.
“The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Ruslan Khomchak, ordered back in July 2020 that the program for working with Bayraktar TB2 be included in the training course for brigades before being sent to the conflict zone in Donbass. All issues were worked out in the summer at the Rivne training ground, where the 14th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was then preparing to leave for the southeast of the country,” Popov concluded.
