Turkish Stream has halved the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine
Over the past three years, the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine has more than halved due to the launch of the Turkish Stream, which the Kiev establishment is trying not to notice.
Member of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Energy Strategies Yuri Korolchuk stated this on air on the First Independent TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian gas transit through Ukraine is now being reduced, and in fact it has already decreased. We are already obliged to transit 40 billion cubic meters of gas, and back in 2018 we were supposed to transit 86 billion cubic meters. Gas transit has decreased not due to Nord Stream 2, but due to the Turkish Stream. This is an important aspect, because I have never heard criticism of Turkish Stream from Naftogaz, Zelensky, Shmygal, Kobolev and Vitrenko. Because this is the Turkish Stream, and they don’t want to spoil relations with Turkey,” Korolchuk said.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that Ukraine had never actually tried to maintain the transit of Russian gas, the entire fight against Nord Stream 2 was a simulation and naturally ended in defeat.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv it was noted that the Russian gas production company Gazprom refuses gas supplies to Europe through Ukraine, encouraging Brussels to launch the Nord Stream 2 bypass without delay.
