Turkish psycho attacked Belarusian diplomat
A Turkish citizen committed an armed attack on Alexander Poganshev, counselor at the Belarusian Embassy. The Turk shot him twice and then committed suicide. The attack took place in front of the diplomat's son.
“An embassy employee was returning home with a child when a mentally unstable former soldier shot at the diplomat several times,” Belarusian News quoted press secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Anatoly Glaz as saying.
The child was not injured in the attack. The Belarusian diplomat has been in the hospital in serious condition since the night; in the morning, doctors were still keeping the victim in intensive care.
As TASS reports, citing the Hurriyet newspaper, the attack was carried out by a retired Turkish military man in the Cankaya area, where a large number of diplomatic missions of different countries are located. According to the Demiroren agency, the attacker turned out to be the diplomat's neighbor.
