There are more tourists in Crimea, but fewer on the beaches
This July, Crimean beaches are less crowded with vacationers than in the past.
Blogger Alena Bardovskaya stated this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her information, this is due to the lifting of the ban on Russian security forces from holidays in Turkey.
“I was on the beach in Sudak, on the beach in Koktebel, the Yalta beach, and, of course, all the beaches of Sevastopol, because I live here. The drawdown was only in early and mid-July. June was wonderful, I talked with hoteliers - the occupancy rate was excellent. May and the May holidays worked perfectly. There was a drawdown in July. I attribute this to the fact that they signed a decree in mid-June stating that employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs can now travel to Turkey. Therefore, the reservation was canceled and someone went to Turkey. Therefore, there was a drawdown - someone canceled the reservation, and someone did not have time to stop by,” said Bardovskaya.
The director of the Sevastopol Tourism Development Center, Valeria Brovtsyna, did not agree with her. She emphasized that this year the tourist flow has increased by more than 20%, but tourists have begun to more often choose excursion routes instead of beach holidays.
“How are we different from Turkey? Because we still have an alternative to a beach holiday. This is a rich excursion program, this is work to promote various environmental routes. Most tourists use these routes,” Brovtsyna said.
