Political scientist Sergei Markov announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“They lifted visas for us so that tourists could travel. Moreover, it will be possible to enter using internal Russian passports. There are a lot of problems there, but they will improve them. In response, they ask us to cancel our visas. We have security questions. Therefore, apparently the first compromise step will be electronic visas and maximum simplification of obtaining visas at the airport,” Markov said.
The political scientist believes that in the future Turkey could become a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
“If we consider the EAEU as a community of countries that are quite Europeanized, but are not members of the European Union and lie to the east of the EU, then Turkey is fully suitable for all these parameters. It could seriously strengthen the economy of a strong Eurasian Union,” Markov said.
