The Turks were satisfied with the S-400 and ignored US threats
Despite attempts by the US and NATO to intimidate Turkey and prevent procurement of Russian air defense systems S-400 "Triumph", the Turkish military has already been able to appreciate all the advantages of these systems and are even considering the option of purchasing an additional batch.
Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes about this, citing the statement of the acting director. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov, who recently announced that there is a possibility of signing another contract for the purchase of Triumphs this year.
In turn, military expert Alexey Leonkov told the publication that during tests, Russian specialists clearly showed the Turkish military all the advantages of the Triumphs. In particular, Russian systems were able to detect all targets, including those at extremely low altitudes. F-16 fighters, which were patrolling at a distance of 600 km, also fell into the radar network, that is, on the border of the radar coverage area.
“It is clear that the Turkish military is now studying new complexes for them, integrating them into their air defense systems, so the training period is set until May. However, they have already become convinced of the effectiveness of our S-400s and are now unlikely to listen to US threats. Turkey has the intention to continue cooperation in this area,” Leonkov emphasized.
