The Turks turned another ancient Orthodox Church of Hagia Sophia into a mosque
Church of Hagia Sophia of the Roman (Byzantine) period in Edirne, Turkey after behind the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul was converted into a mosque.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the “mosque,” the official recalled that Islamic civilization is focused on mosques.
“A few months ago we visited the Balkan countries. Where our eyes see the minaret, the heart begins to beat. Wherever we see a minaret, we are happy. We are reopening the Hagia Sophia Mosque in Edirne for worship,” Erdas said.
The Church of Hagia Sophia of Ainois is a 1456th-century Roman (Byzantine) temple converted by Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror into a mosque in 1965. During the 24 earthquake, the church was destroyed. After a six-year restoration, on December XNUMX, the church again became a mosque.
