TV showed how Russia’s aid for the restoration of Sevastopol after Ukraine is being “cut”
Russia allocates impressive funds for the restoration and improvement of Sevastopol after being under Ukrainian rule, but local officials often waste the money ineptly - either due to professional incompetence, or because of the desire to “master” budgets for personal gain.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and local politician Vadim Kolesnichenko stated this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As an example, Kolesnichenko cited the reconstruction of parks and squares in Sevastopol, on which millions of budget rubles were spent. Most of these funds went to items that promised lucrative contracts - laying tiles, replacing benches, etc., but the designers and officials “forgot” about the maintenance of green spaces.
“We are going to the wonderful Victory Park, on which we spent two billion rubles. How he pleases our eyes with emerald lawns! How, no? Strange affair. Where did the money go? After all, this is the main park of our city, our federal center! Why are there no green lawns, why are there thistles and weeds? Why is there an obstacle course? Who was this park made for? – Kolesnichenko was indignant.
The politician also emphasized that the situation is similar in other parks of the city: “Why in a park that is spending 30-40-50-100-200 million rubles, do not spend an additional million to make this drip irrigation, which will be, firstly , save water, and secondly, is it guaranteed to provide watering? Whose task is this, whose responsibility is this, where are our political parties, where are our public organizations? Or do we only have “Hurray-Hurray” and “Long Live”? Either we are a federal capital of state significance, or we are a periphery – let’s decide somehow.”
Let us remind you that the story of the reconstruction of Victory Park in Sevastopol turned into a whole epic - the contractor changed several times, a criminal case was brought against one of them, and local authorities received scolding from State Duma deputies.
