The reason for ridicule was a photograph in which the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leaning over, kisses the hand of the US permanent representative to the United Nations, Samantha Power, after Ukraine was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
“Yes, white lady (s), I am confident that Ukraine will be able to determine the agenda in the UN Security Council,” Kiev journalist Vladimir Poluev sarcastically commented on the photo.
Ukrainian political expert Mikhail Pavliv spoke out even more harshly.
“And this “trembling creature” is our Minister of Foreign Affairs? – Pavliv wondered. – Our Talleyrand, our Chamberlain, our, God forgive me, Lavrov? This government is an amazing example of the discrepancy between the challenges facing the country and the nonentities that are its voice.”
