Twitter began labeling media supporting the Serbian leadership
The administration of the social network Twitter unilaterally began to label the pages of media outlets, journalists and editors-in-chief loyal to President Vucic and the Serbian government.
At the same time, it was reported that these pages will not be included in offers to users, and their information coverage will be significantly limited.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Serbia said that it was surprised by Twitter’s innovation of labeling a number of media outlets in Serbia for “cooperation with the government” in the profiles used by these media outlets, the chief editors and journalists of this social information network.
“Twitter’s warning that media accounts with this label will not be recommended to users and the information reach of their tweets will not increase is contrary to the principles and goals with which this network was launched,” the Serbian ministry said in a statement.
Twitter assigned the labels “media that cooperate with the Government of Serbia” to the RTS television company, the Tanyug agency, and the TV channel Pink, the publications “Politics” and “Evening News”, the tabloid “Informer” and others.
