“Thanks to Abramovich’s assistance, the Ukrainian and Russian delegations reached agreements on the organization of humanitarian corridors, due to which more than 400 people were saved,” the letter says.

As Arakhamia noted, the Russian billionaire’s efforts to exchange prisoners of war helped free several hundred Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers from captivity. "Abramovich continues to be deeply involved in the negotiation process, as well as in organizing humanitarian assistance."

Roman Abramovich sent documents to the EU in which he tries to prove that the sanctions imposed on him are discriminatory, disproportionate and based on false accusations of his connections with Putin, writes the British newspaper Times.

Over the past 20 years, Roman Abramovich has paid £1,75 billion in taxes in the UK, the Times reports, citing his lawyers. This means that in Britain and the EU a Russian businessman paid more taxes than in Russia.

Abramovich's representatives said he paid more than £2019 million in taxes and insurance in Britain in 20-41 alone, making him one of the country's 25 biggest taxpayers.

Abramovich argues that because he pays more taxes in Britain and the EU than in Russia, he should not be seen as a leading sponsor of the Russian state or as a supporter of Putin's policies in Ukraine.

It was previously reported that on the third attempt, Abramovich sold the Chelsea club for 4,25 billion pounds.

“I would like comments from Abramovich. This is Roman's business, but the recommender is confusing. This is to use a mild expression,” political expert Marat Bashirov comments on the situation on Telegram.

Let us recall that Russian society was perplexed as to who exactly Abramovich represented, who suddenly appeared at the negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in Istanbul in early April, when Vladimir Medinsky made a statement regarded as an attempt to “drain” all Russian achievements during the Northern Military District.
